Have you ever been hit by that sudden, strange feeling when you realize how unpredictable life can be?
This feeling, which can take us by surprise, doesn't need a big event like a loss to happen. It can come from small changes, like the end of a season or the close of a holiday we love.
It feels like a shock that can shake us up for a bit.
I want to share with you a special way to ground yourself that involves a neat aspect of hypnosis: the way the nerves in our taste buds link to our feelings.
This easy and pleasant method, called the EaseY PeaceY, is perfect for those times you're seeking some emotional stability.
What you'll need:
- 🍎 One apple
- 🍫 A small piece of chocolate, best if it's cold
- 🕘 5-10 minutes where you won't be interrupted
- 🏝🪑 A comfortable place to sit
Getting ready:
- 🍎 Wash the apple carefully, feeling its texture.
- 🍫 Get the chocolate out of the fridge.
- 🍎🍫 Take both to your comfy sitting spot.
**1st Step:**
- 🪑 Get settled in.
- 😊🍎 Close your eyes and enjoy your first bite of the apple.
- ✔️ Let the mix of sweet, sour, and bitter tastes dance on your tongue.
- ✔️ Keep eating the apple with focus, paying attention to every sensation in your mouth.
- ✔️ Finish the apple with your eyes closed, and move on to step 2 after the taste is gone.
**2nd Step:**
- 🍫 Next, still with your eyes closed, savor the chocolate.
- ✔️ Notice how its creamy texture contrasts with the apple's zing, calming your taste buds.
- ✔️ Let it melt slowly, concentrating on the comforting feeling and sweetness.
- ✔️ Stay in this peaceful moment with your eyes closed a bit longer.
**3rd Step:**
- 🙂 Gently open your eyes.
- 🖐 Stretch your fingers a bit.
- 🦶 Wiggle your toes, and then you're all set to continue with your day.
This practice, based on sensory hypnosis, helps us connect more deeply with the here and now, calming our minds and bodies.
Try it out, and I'm confident you'll come out of it feeling more awake, refreshed, and with a content smile on your face.
Yours,
Barbara Eva
